Feed the Homeless is this Wednesday. Starts at 5:00 Pm at Christ Episcopal Church (2100 S. Maryland Pkwy @ St. Louis), please try to bring cookies.

The Greenspoke’s event will be held the last week in August. More info coming next week.

The Tuachan bus trip is this Friday. Few seats are still available. Please plan on meeting at the Sam’s Club on Rainbow and Spring Mountain at 1:30; bus leaves at 2:00pm. Dinner is at 5:30 pm.

Fines and Credits

$100.00 credit for all past president-elects and all board members.

Eric Colvin fined $100.00 for losing McCain as a board member of his bank

Ed Guthrie was fined $100.00 for attending some fancy awards dinner, he did not win an award so Doug gave him a $50.00 credit.

Gary Chase fined $25.00 for letting the stock market drop. Gary said Jack needs to fix the housing market first (so he was fined $25.00) then Gary will do something about the stock market.

Tom Axtell is the General Manager for Vegas PBS Stations channel 10. Tom spoke about how technology has helped PBS improve education, Digital Emergency Alert System, School security and the learning for blind children.

Feed the Homeless July 30, 2008 – Bring cookies if you can

The Spring Mountain Ranch play will be on July 22, 2008 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. The Chamber will host a performance of the 1969 Tony award winning musical, 1776. You can get your tickets from Karen Strawn. There will be food available for purchase, as well as chairs for rent, but you are welcome to bring to your own.

Congratulations to Ram Kumar for receiving a recognition award plaque

Ram Kumar spoke about a new committee called Leadership Development. He will share information with them about Rotary.

Ed Jamison was recognized in the RJ Business section. He was fined $150.00 and an additional $50.00 for being absent.

Bill Goff was fined $100.00 for the Pickens Plan.

Fred Fukomoto was fined $50.00 for forgetting to leave his badge.

Gary Chase fined $10.00

Josh Satterlee was fined $50.00 for getting new business from his Craft Talk. Ram had an appointment later that day.

Our speaker for July 21, 2008 was Dr. Oliver A. Hemmers. He is the Director of Nevada BioTechnology and Director of Strategic Energy Programs, UNLV.  He Spoke about The efficiency of algae ponds in combination with a CO2 source. Impact on the food supply attributed to the production of ethanol.
